This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader to make a significant impact across Greater Western Water's infrastructure program. As Team Leader you will lead a team of project professionals delivering essential infrastructure projects that support our growing communities.

You will be an empowering and influential leader who inspires high performance, champions safety and wellbeing, and builds strong relationships across the organisation and with external delivery partners. Balancing strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, you will drive project excellence, develop team capability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer-focused outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficient delivery of a portfolio of mid-to-major capital programs, consistently meeting technical specifications and strategic requirements.
  • Lead the adoption of best-practice project management processes while proactively refining workflows in conjunction with asset managers to ensure seamless delivery and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle
  • Cultivate and lead a high-performing team dedicated to achieving strategic business objectives and operational excellence.
  • Devise and implement processes to manage team and program budget and project spend and ensure all project and program reporting is completed accurately and in required timeframes
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure all projects have appropriate documented reviews and learnings shared across the group and wider business.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational or project delivery environment.
  • Strong capability to lead and coordinate technical specialists and contractors, driving collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement outcomes.
  • A proven track record of building high-performing engaged and inclusive teams through coaching, mentoring and performance leadership.
  • Confident communicator with a proven track record of engaging senior executives and Boards, alongside powerful soft skills in team management and stakeholder relationship building.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or Business Administration is highly regarded.
  • Program Management, Project Governance and Risk Management experience within an infrastructure setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and leading teams through change
  • Current driver’s licence.
