The opportunity

The Team Leader, Dam Safety is a member of the Water Planning leadership team within our Integrated Asset Planning section.
Managing a specialised team, you will play a lead role in enabling GWW to shape the future prosperity of our communities through management of our dams
in alignment with broader integrated planning priorities.
Responsibilities
- Driving organisational uplift in infrastructure planning capability by contributing to GWW’s planning leadership team, strengthening relationships across the organisation and embedding an effective cross functional way of working.
- Leading the Dam Safety team to efficiently manage our dams in accordance with our Statement of Obligations – through the capability of the team and through partnership with external providers
- Facilitating collaboration between the Dam Safety team and other portfolios and functions to ensure our planning is holistic and ensures solutions that are aligned with corporate strategy, regulatory settings, and adaptive pathways
- Overseeing the development of investment programs to manage our dams to meet our obligations and keep the community safe
- Ensuring investment planning considers whole-of-life costs (TOTEX), provides value for money and delivers on our customer commitments
- Maintaining a prioritised pipeline of projects and programs to support the timely progression of projects through to delivery
Skills & Experience
- Practical knowledge of dam safety management, including ANCOLD guidelines and our Statement of Obligations.
- Understanding of drivers, challenges, opportunities, policies and processes relevant for managing dam safety.
- Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships, influencing decision making and providing clear communication.
- Deep understanding of asset management and operations, with a proven track record in planning, prioritising and delivering dam infrastructure projects.
- Experience in people leadership including leading through complexity and balancing competing priorities, building workforce capability and contributing to an inclusive and high performing culture.
- Degree in Engineering or relevant industry experience.
