The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Operator to play a key role in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of recycled water assets.
In this role you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day operational activities, support 24/7 service delivery, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across treatment and recycled water systems.
You will work closely with internal teams, contractors and customers to ensure compliance, optimise asset performance and uphold strong safety and environmental outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and deliver daily operational activities to ensure reliable, compliant and uninterrupted services
• Monitor, analyse and optimise asset performance using telemetry systems such as SCADA, IoTand field instrumentation
• Independently troubleshoot faults and performance trends, escalating complex issues as required
• Plan and schedule operational resources, contractors and after-hours response to meet 24/7 requirements
• Support recycled water compliance through Recycled Water Agreements and Customer Site Management Plan (CSMP) visits
• Provide on-site safety leadership, ensuring HSEQ requirements, permits and isolations are effectively managed
• Lead key operational programs, outages and improvement initiatives
• Support operators and maintenance staff, strengthening team capability and performance
• Engage with customers and stakeholders on operational matters, compliance requirements and service issues
Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience operating water, wastewater and/or recycled water network assets
• Proven capability coordinating contractors, operators and maintenance staff in an operational environment
• Strong working knowledge of SCADA systems, operational technology and asset management systems
• Sound understanding of operational safety, risk management and emergency response
• Ability to analyse operational data to identify trends, faults and improvement opportunities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
• Certificate III in Water or Wastewater Treatment Operations (or equivalent experience)
• Current Driver’s Licence (essential) and ability to participate in after-hours and on-call rosters
