The opportunity 

As an Operator, Water Treatment Operations, you'll support the day-to-day operation of critical water treatment assets, helping ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted water services for our customers. Working within a collaborative operational team, you'll monitor plant performance, undertake operational activities, collect samples, support maintenance programs and respond to operational issues as they arise.

This is a hands-on role that combines field-based operational work with the use of modern technology and systems, including SCADA and operational monitoring tools. You'll contribute to the safe and efficient operation of treatment assets while supporting continuous improvement, regulatory compliance and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment assets to maintain safe and reliable service delivery.
• Monitor operational performance, identify issues and escalate risks when required.
• Undertake water sampling, testing and operational inspections.
• Support maintenance and capital works programs through site coordination, permits and isolations.
• Use SCADA, operational systems and monitoring tools to optimise asset performance.
• Participate in emergency response and after-hours roster arrangements as required.

Skills & Experience

• Experience operating water or wastewater treatment facilities.
• Understanding of treatment plant operations, compliance and safety requirements.
• Experience using SCADA systems and operational technology platforms.
• Ability to interpret operational data and respond to changing conditions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Certificate III in Water Treatment or Wastewater Treatment Operations, or equivalent experience.
• Current Australian driver's license (required).
