The opportunity

We’re looking for an Operator, Water Network Operations to support the day-to-day operation of water system assets, ensuring safe, reliable and uninterrupted services for our customers.

Based at the Rosslynne Water Treatment Plant, with responsibilities across multiple sites across the GWW network, this is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with senior team members and field teams to operate, monitor and maintain water infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in managing operational performance, responding to issues, and supporting maintenance and capital works programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of water network assets in line with operational plans
  • Monitor system performance, identify faults and escalate issues as required
  • Utilise systems such as SCADA and other operational technologies
  • Participate in sampling, testing and water quality activities
  • Coordinate permits, isolations and support maintenance works
  • Respond to incidents, outages and participate in after-hours roster
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and compliance with HSEQ standards

 

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in water, wastewater or related operational environments
  • Exposure to SCADA, asset management systems or operational technology
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to manage operational risks
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Practical, hands-on approach with willingness to learn and develop
  • Certificate III in Water / Water Treatment / Wastewater Operations or equivalent experience (Highly desirable)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (Essential)
  • Ability to participate in after-hours and emergency response roster
