The opportunity 
We’re seeking an Operator, Sewer Network to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of sewer water network assets.
This field-based role is responsible for supporting day-to-day operational activities across wastewater systems, ensuring assets operate within defined limits and regulatory requirements. Working closely with senior operators and broader operations teams, you will assist in monitoring performance, responding to faults, supporting maintenance activities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
The role offers exposure to modern operational systems and technology, strong safety leadership expectations, and the opportunity to build capability across sewer and recycled water network operations.

 

Responsibilities
•    Support day-to-day sewer network operations in line with procedures and safety requirements
•    Monitor operational performance using tools such as SCADA, CCTV, IoT and operational systems
•    Identify, investigate and escalate faults, risks and performance trends
•    Participate in sampling, testing and investigations to support water and wastewater quality outcomes
•    Issue maintenance work orders and support site inductions, isolations and permit-to-work processes
•    Assist with outages, system changes, emergency response and after-hours callouts
•    Maintain strong HSEQ leadership, contractor supervision and site safety standards

 

Skills & Experience
•    Experience in water, wastewater and/or recycled water operations
•    Ability to use operational and asset management systems (including SCADA)
•    Strong safety awareness and understanding of risk management in operational environments
•    Sound communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
•    Certificate III in Water or Wastewater Treatment (or equivalent experience)
•    Current Driver’s Licence (essential)
Highly desirable:
•    Sewer network experience (pump stations, pipelines, tanks, valves)
•    Capability to move into more complex operational activities, such as incorporating analysis and reporting for improved operational outcomes.
•    White Card, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, First Aid
