Reporting to the Manager Sewer Planning, the role leads the analysis and development of sewer asset investment programs across both network and treatment plant assets, delivering aligned outcomes with the Strategic Asset Management Plan and Service Level Plans. The position oversees the delivery of multi-horizon investment plans (1–10 years and 20+ years), ensures whole-of-life, value-for-money decisions through collaborative, cross-functional planning, maintains a strong pipeline of projects for timely execution, and embeds a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and partnership across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high performing, engaged team, championing GWW’s culture through strong leadership in safety, wellbeing, diversity, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Lead development and governance of Asset Management Plans (AMPs) in line with GWW’s Strategic Asset Management Plan and frameworks, ensuring strong compliance and continuous improvement of asset programs through performance and condition analysis.
  • Drive evidence-based investment decision-making through lifecycle cost modelling, RAMS analysis, reliability performance assessment and whole-of-life (TOTEX) optimisation across sewer networks and treatment plants.
  • Prioritise and optimise asset programs and budgets by designing CAPEX and OPEX envelopes, selecting critical assets, and dynamically re-prioritising activities in response to emerging operational needs.
  • Strengthen cross-functional planning and delivery by establishing structured collaboration during the annual AMP cycle and developing shared tools and insights to improve engagement, accountability and outcomes across the business.
  • Lead specialist team resources to analyse asset performance across all asset classes (water, sewer, recycled water – network and treatment), enabling data-driven reporting against KPIs and the Asset Performance Framework, and partnering with asset managers to deliver strategic and innovative improvements to asset management outcomes.
