The opportunity

The position provides specialised workplace relations advice and support to People Leaders at Greater Western Water (GWW) on employee and industrial relations, including case management and investigations. It involves interpreting the GWW Enterprise Agreement, and engaging with unions and employees while collaborating with the Strategic People & Culture team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of GWW’s Industrial and Employee Relations framework, advise on the GWW Enterprise Agreement, provide workplace relations guidance.
  • Manage complex employment issues, foster union relationships, and coach stakeholders.
  • Work alongside the People, Culture and Safety team and operational leaders to build and embed greater capability in employee relations best practice, risk management and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the People, Culture and Safety team to review, develop, and implement effective and up-to-date People and Culture policies from concept to approval.
  • Design and deliver workplace relations capability uplift for people leaders, with a view to reducing the number of escalated cases.
  • Understand workforce Workplace Relations needs, foster positive union relationships, support employee consultation activities, and maintain effective relationships both internally and with external service providers.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in Industrial/Employee Relations, including effective relationship management.
  • Extensive experience with end-to-end case management, complex case management, investigations, and performance management practices.
  • Experience in Enterprise Agreement implementation, and interpretation.
  • Stakeholder management, coaching, consulting, and relationship-building
  • Exposure to a unionised environment (essential).
  • Experience in translating enterprise agreements and industrial relations strategy into fit for purpose policy.
  • Experience coaching and developing colleagues and internal stakeholders.
