The opportunity
Due to an internal movement, we now have this exciting opportunity available!
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Business Planning and Strategy Team. You will lead the development of priority strategies and business plans, working collaboratively across the enterprise. This includes bringing in external insights, evaluating and advising on external trends, and transforming our strategic intent into tangible initiatives through strategy pathways, corporate plans, and business plans.
Relationship building is key to this role. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders, government and external partners, to ensure GWW is a sought after and respected participant in the development of key Government policies, strategies, and plans.

Responsibilities
- Lead components of strategy implementation pathway development in collaboration with the business and ensure they are fit-for purpose
- Contribute to the development of the Annual Board Strategy Day – setting the strategic direction for the year ahead
- Evaluate and be a trusted advisor regarding emerging policy expectations and regulatory reform relevant to GWW
- Scan for external insights on emerging issues and highlight key trends and insights that impact GWW’s strategic direction
Skills & Experience
- A tertiary qualification in a related discipline
- Involvement in driving strategic intent into action including the implementation of innovative outcomes that provide business value
- Outstanding people and stakeholder engagement skills complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to influence decision making and action
- Having a curious mindset with experience in working with diverse data points and information, combined with the ability to identify trends, insights and draw out recommendations around risk, opportunities, and actions
- Experience in strategy or policy development within the water, utilities, research, or government sector would be highly regarded
