The opportunity

The role involves collaborating with key leaders at Greater Western Water to shape its strategic direction and enterprise priorities. Responsibilities include developing consistent advocacy positions on essential priorities like water security and sustainability and working with other metropolitan water corporations to further the objectives of the Managing Director’s Accord. Additionally, the position entails managing program reporting to Steering Committees, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board to track progress and identify risks and opportunities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice and advocacy to align GWW’s positions in key collaborative discussions, supporting leadership through coordinated briefings.
  • Lead external advocacy efforts to enhance GWW's strategic positioning in important forums and discussions.
  • Develop and oversee a cohesive work, governance, and resourcing plan within a multi-disciplinary team, while efficiently managing timelines and understanding risks associated with work package delivery.
  • Work closely with the S&BP team to develop and manage a framework for managing policy positioning.
  • Report progress, including activities, risks, opportunities, and costs to key stakeholders, and support procurement and contract management as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline.
  • Self-motivated professional with a strong enthusiasm for collaboration, effective influence, and skilled negotiation techniques.
  • Proven critical thinker with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and direction.
  • Experienced in delivering complex programs successfully within agile methodologies and resource-constrained environments.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and digital communication skills, enabling effective engagement with key stakeholders across the organisation.
