The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled procurement professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of complex IT and Digital sourcing initiatives across the organisation. As the Senior Sourcing Specialist, IT&D, you will lead end-to-end procurement activities from sourcing strategy and tender execution through to commercial negotiations and contract finalisation.

Working closely with the Senior Category Manager, IT&D, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, leading complex procurement projects across a broad range of technology categories including software, cloud, telecommunications, managed services and digital solutions. You will partner with stakeholders across the business, providing trusted commercial advice, navigating competing priorities, and driving procurement outcomes that deliver value while managing risk.

Success in this role requires strong commercial judgement, resilience, and the ability to influence stakeholders with varying levels of procurement maturity. You will be confident translating complex business requirements and tender outcomes into robust commercial and contractual arrangements that support long-term organisational objectives.

As part of a high-performing Procurement team,, you will contribute to category strategies, and support the continuous uplift of procurement capability.

This role offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions and shape best-practice sourcing and contracting outcomes across the IT and Digital portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for complex IT and Digital procurements, from strategy development through to contract execution, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies, tender documentation, evaluation methodologies and recommendations that align with business objectives, risk requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Manage commercial, technical and risk-based evaluations, providing robust analysis and insights to support informed decision-making and value-for-money outcomes.
• Lead supplier negotiations and supplier engagement activities, securing favourable commercial outcomes while balancing risk, performance and business requirements.
• Translate sourcing and tender outcomes into robust commercial and contractual arrangements, ensuring contractual terms accurately reflect business needs, negotiated positions and risk considerations.
• Build trusted relationships across IT, Digital and broader business teams, acting as a strategic procurement advisor and providing expert guidance on sourcing and contracting matters.
• Identify and deliver commercial savings and operational efficiencies through proactive engagement with stakeholders, suppliers and market opportunities.
• Ensure all sourcing activities comply with procurement policies, governance frameworks, probity standards and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to category strategy development, continuous improvement initiatives and procurement capability uplift through knowledge sharing, coaching and the adoption of best-practice sourcing approaches.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in procurement and sourcing, with 7+ years’ experience and a strong track record delivering complex ICT procurement initiatives.
• Proven ability to independently lead end-to-end ICT sourcing activities and tenders, including high-value and complex procurements, through to successful commercial outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and strategic sourcing methodologies, particularly within IT and Digital categories.
• Sound understanding of ICT procurement categories, including software, SaaS, cloud services, cybersecurity, telecommunications, managed services and digital solutions.
• Experience producing high-quality procurement documentation, recommendations and business cases that support timely decision-making and require minimal review or rework.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate favourable outcomes, identify value creation opportunities, and deliver measurable savings and efficiencies.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating, drafting and finalising complex ICT contracts, with the ability to translate tender outcomes into robust contractual arrangements that appropriately manage commercial, operational and technology risks.
• Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and present executive-quality reports, recommendations and briefings.
• Demonstrated resilience and ability to achieve outcomes in complex stakeholder environments characterised by ambiguity, competing priorities and varying levels of procurement maturity.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, IT, or related discipline and/or equivalent experience
