The opportunity

Due to internal promotion, we now have this great opportunity available!

 

The Senior Project Manager leads the delivery of major infrastructure projects that make a real difference for Greater Western Water customers see what we are working on here!  As part of the Major Projects team, you’ll oversee complex capital works from start to finish, delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

 

You’ll bring strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, champion safety and sustainability, and play a key role in building delivery capability and a customer‑first, high‑performing culture.

 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of projects from design development, through to delivery and handover including project governance, contract management, external approvals, risk management, budget and forecasts, schedule, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate and manage Delivery Partner relationships and construction contracts in accordance with GWW requirements. 
  • Provide guidance and mentoring on all aspects of project management to the broader project team.
  • Ensure a culture of safety, for self, extending to site, contractors, and community.
  • Engage, build, maintain, and improve relationships with internal and external key partners from other utilities companies, Local Councils, Department of Transport and Planning, EPA, Registered Aboriginal Parties, DEECA and other government organisations. 

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Advanced project management and technical skills in running multiple complex capital works projects. 
  • Outstanding experience in working with key internal partners to external contractors, to regulatory bodies and alike. 
  • Knowledge around economic, community, political, cultural heritage and environmental issues that face the organisation in the delivery of services and projects. 
  • Confidence in contract management within the utilities/ infrastructure sector. 
  • Degree in Engineering. 
  • This role involves frequent travel within our service region; a current Victorian driver's license is essential.
  • Please note - in this role you will be working with sewer, vaccinations to keep you safe will include Hep A & B, Tetanus, Q Fever.
