The opportunity 
This is a senior technical leadership role where you will shape and deliver high-impact network maintenance programs. 
You’ll lead fault diagnostics, root cause investigations, and program optimisation across water and sewer networks, ensuring assets perform safely, reliably, and efficiently. 
You’ll collaborate across engineering, field teams, and contractors, using data-driven insights to improve operational outcomes and mentor engineers and officers, building technical capability across the Network Maintenance Hub.

 

Responsibilities
•    Lead the design, delivery, and optimisation of maintenance programs for network assets (e.g., valves, rising mains).
•    Conduct complex fault investigations and root cause analyses to reduce asset failure risk.
•    Mentor engineers and technical officers to strengthen technical capability and decision-making.
•    Analyse condition monitoring outputs and field data to inform program improvements and operational planning.
•    Provide technical assurance, review methodologies, and oversee field inspections and audits.
•    Collaborate across teams to integrate insights into maintenance strategies and drive continuous improvement.
•    Ensure programs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, budget, and risk priorities.

 


Skills & Experience
•    Proven experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance planning, and reliability engineering.
•    Skilled in condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data analytics.
•    Strong technical report writing and evidence-based decision-making skills.
•    High level of autonomy, judgement, and problem-solving in complex technical environments.
•    Familiarity with SCADA, IoT, and asset management systems desirable.
•    Driver’s License (required)
•    Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification (essential)
•    Equivalent experience in asset or maintenance engineering roles will be considered.
