The opportunity
Join our Southern Recycled Water Operations team as a Senior Process Engineer, where you’ll provide technical expertise to optimise the performance of wastewater and recycled water systems. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring reliable, safe, and sustainable treatment operations that protect our communities and environment - helping advance our circular economy goals.
In this role, you’ll combine data-driven analysis, process engineering insight, and operational leadership to enhance asset performance, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen our culture of safety, compliance, and innovation.

 

Responsibilities
•    Monitor and analyse operational performance, dashboards, and compliance thresholds to improve plant efficiency and reliability. 
•    Identify and respond to process anomalies, escalating issues and supporting operational response to minimise impact. 
•    Lead and support process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives across wastewater and recycled water systems. 
•    Oversee and deliver research and development projects, trials, and operational improvement programs. 
•    Provide safety leadership in operations and process design, applying HAZOP/HACCP methodologies and risk control frameworks. 
•    Collaborate across teams, consultants, and regulatory partners to ensure compliance, quality outcomes, and innovation in service delivery. 
•    Contribute to proactive HSEQ culture and continuous improvement in alignment with our 2030 vision – Thriving People and Country.

 

Skills & Experience
•    Degree-qualified in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Civil Engineering, with strong experience in water or wastewater treatment. 
•    Demonstrated experience in process engineering, optimisation, and application of industry codes, standards, and legislative frameworks. 
•    Skilled in program and project management, with ability to manage and guide consultants and technical investigations. 
•    High digital literacy across systems such as SCADA, BI dashboards, GIS, and Asset Management platforms. 
•    Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholders. 
•    Committed to innovation, safety, and sustainable operations. 
•    Current Driver’s Licence, with ability to travel and participate in afterhours roster as required.
•    White Card (Highly desirable)
