The opportunity

Join Greater Western Water as a Senior Category Manager, Service Delivery and play a key role in shaping the future delivery of operational services across one of Australia's fastest-growing regions.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Property, you'll lead strategic sourcing, category management and procurement activities that support GWW's Service Delivery function. You'll partner closely with operational leaders, suppliers and contractors to develop procurement strategies that deliver value, manage risk and support critical services for our customers and communities.

This role combines commercial leadership, supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing and stakeholder engagement. You'll lead complex procurement activities from strategy development and market engagement through to negotiation, contract execution and supplier performance management, while also driving procurement innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category, sourcing and supplier strategies that align with business objectives and deliver value for money.
• Lead complex end-to-end procurement activities, including market engagement, evaluation, negotiation and contract finalisation.
• Provide strategic commercial advice to stakeholders on procurement, contracts, supplier performance and market opportunities.
• Drive operational efficiencies, cost savings and supplier performance improvements across the category.
• Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to support successful business outcomes.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen procurement capability, governance and value delivery.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement within operational, maintenance, supply chain or infrastructure environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating complex contracts and commercial agreements.
• Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies that deliver value, reduce risk and improve performance.
• Strong analytical, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance outcomes.
• Degree qualification in Business, Procurement, Engineering or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience (Highly regarded)
• Experience within large, complex public sector or regulated environments (Highly regarded)
