The opportunity

Join GWW in this new role! Fixed term contract 18-months!

 

As the Senior Category Manager - IT, you will be responsible for IT&D category management driving competitive costs, mitigating risk, and directly improving the quality of services provided to Greater Western Water (GWW) customers, communities, and shareholders.  You will lead   all high value and high risk technology & data source-to-contract procurement activities, overseeing the effective administration of procurement processes, and ensuring strict compliance with all procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks. .

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive IT&D category, supplier and sourcing strategies that align with business, environmental, and economic objectives while managing commercial and supply chain risks.
  • Lead high value and high-risk end-to-end IT procurement activities, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract management, and performance reviews, including ensuring executed IT contracts are prepared and handed over efficiently and effectively to contract owner for ongoing contract management.
  • Optimise the IT&D category supplier base through identifying opportunities for consolidation ensuring value for money is achieved.
  • Maximise GWW purchasing power across categories and in accordance with the GWW Procurement Policy and procedures.
  • Provide strategic commercial advice by analysing technology market trends and supplier capabilities to support informed decision-making and develop cost models to inform commercial planning and decision making.

 

Skills & Experience

  • In-depth expertise in Commercial IT management contracts, Project management.
  • Expert Procurement knowledge to optimise business performance and mitigate risks
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement of IT & digital software, hardware, cloud and services.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing IT strategic sourcing, category management and procurement strategies/plans including providing expert contractual and commercial advice to the business.
  • Advanced analytical expertise with robust critical reasoning and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and adopt new procurement methods and processes to deliver business outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in negotiating complex outcomes, execution of contracts, securing new arrangements and structuring performance tracking systems.
