The opportunity

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding business requirements from both IT and operational perspectives to define effective technology solutions that address business challenges. Working as part of the Business Analyst Practice team and reporting to the Team Leader, Business Analyst Practice, this role will coordinate delivery initiatives by translating them into clear, actionable, and executable requirements. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to produce detailed analysis that underpins the design and measurement of future solutions. Additionally, the role will play a key part in conveying requirements across business processes, tools, and people to ensure IT gains deep insight and delivers solutions that meet operational needs while aligning with strategic objectives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Engage and build strong relationships with key Business and IT stakeholders to understand processes, identify pain points, and develop effective solutions and improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and analyse current functions, processes, systems, and tools to produce clear, traceable business requirements that guide solution delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project and portfolio progress, proactively identifying risks and issues while recommending effective solutions and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop financial models and contribute to investment briefs and business cases to support analysis of current and target business states and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Act as the central point of knowledge for business-related queries, leading discussions and setting clear expectations for project teams.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive documentation and dry-runs to ensure a smooth go-live and seamless transition to business and IT operations teams.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in business analysis, process management, and automation within the IT industry, including mapping, documentation, and framework development (e.g. APQC, BPMN).
  • Strong capability in solution design, development, and implementation, with the ability to standardise processes and templates to support consistent delivery.
  • Experienced in collaborating within design-led environments, applying Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design principles to drive innovation.
  • Excellent understanding of automation technologies, digital tools, and IT service delivery practices, supported by strong digital literacy and systems thinking.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts through multiple formats such as business cases and presentations.
  • Proficient in business analysis and project tools (e.g. MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, Excel), adaptable to new technologies, and experienced in vendor and partner management.
  • Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline
