The opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Modelling to join our team at Greater Western Water working within our Financial Planning Team.  Day-to-day you will be providing strategic insights, driving informed decision-making by interpreting, and understanding the GWW operational and financial drivers.  You will employ a range of skills and techniques covering financial and operating performance analysis, financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, financial benchmarking, and key financial metrics analysis.  

 

This role is crucial in ensuring GWW delivers exceptional services to its customers by driving revenue growth, investing in infrastructure, and providing a fair return to shareholders.  If you are passionate about maximising value and looking to make a difference dive in and apply today! 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial insights based on analysis of financial performance, including trends and drivers of business activity and retail demand. 
  • Undertake complex financial modelling to produce robust forecasts of key financial metrics. 
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain monthly data reports and analysis to assess project and program performance.  
  • Work collaboratively with business and external stakeholders to identify, scope, and deliver financial advice and strategies that deliver long term financial sustainability. 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Essential experience in 3-way financial statements modelling.
  • Degree qualified with a CPA / CA is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining complex Financial Models
  • Exceptional financial and analytical skills combined with the experience in interpreting data and providing financial insights.
  • Experience in working with internal and external reporting mechanisms and frameworks. 
  • Engaging and effective communication skills both written and verbal, complemented by the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. 
  • A commercial mindset with a strong understanding of business case development.
  • Advanced excel skills (including macros, Power Query).
