The opportunity
The Project Manager, Major Development is a member of the Major Development & Government Works team, reporting directly to the Team Leader, Major Development & Government Works. Day-to-day you will be providing leadership in the delivery of GWW’s Development Services Capital Works program from conception through to completion, ensuring we are delivering on safety, compliance with WSAA, Australian Standards and industry best practice for quality and environmental protection, and supports a culture that places customers first, focuses on high performance and develops our people.

Responsibilities
- Perform oversight project management of reimbursable projects managed by GWW-accredited land development consultants
- Ensure each project is delivered in compliance with relevant standards and legislation, codes, and GWW policies and procedures, and in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner
- Manage project budgets and complete required financial management reporting.
- Review and validate progress claims, and variations.
- Adhere to GWW procurement policies and guidelines
- Review non-conformances issued and closed out within prescribed timelines
- Engages with, builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders including developers, consultants, contractors, other utilities, councils, government entities, etc.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in project management, design and construction of asset infrastructure.
- Efficient and accurate financial and budget management.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to safety and problem-solving.
- Effective stakeholder engagement skills combined with well-developed negotiation skills.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines, stakeholder needs and competing priorities.
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience.
