The opportunity
As the Program Manager, Technology working in the Delivery Practice Team, you will be responsible for delivering the technology vision and strategy ensuring complex, cross-functional Greater Western Water (GWW) projects are executed effectively and efficiently.
Day to day you will collaborate with key stakeholders such as Project Managers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts and the PMO to ensure GWW deliver the program of work to quality, cost, and scope in alignment with governance frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure project delivery teams deliver complex technical initiatives, which align with PMO requirements and anticipate risks, identify mitigation strategies, and align stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Manage project manager resources as part of the Centre of Excellence (CoE), in collaboration with business analysis, architecture, testing, and financial management resources.
- Partner and influence business stakeholders cross functionally to plan, co-design, build and execute strategic roadmaps aligned to GWW strategic risk, vision, and business outcomes.
- Develop business cases across the portfolio to ensure pragmatic and fit for purpose proposals to meet business needs for now and the future.
- Plan, lead, deliver and report on the program portfolio to ensure financially sustainable outcomes.
- Ensure all suitable projects have appropriate governance models in place.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge around application delivery and technology infrastructure – network, compute, cloud services and storage.
- Demonstrate understanding of security concepts to deliver solutions with a security and resilience mindset.
- Experience in end-to-end program management from business case to the delivery of complex/large scale programs of work using Waterfall and Agile methodology coupled with a good understanding on ITIL best practices.
- Proven experience in program management within a complex environment
- Ability to work collaboratively, influence and engage with a diverse range of stakeholder.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Oracle financials, asset management, ESRI ArcGIS will be highly regarded.
- Essential degree qualification - Bachelors in IT related degree or equivalent
