The opportunity
The Program Manager, Technology is crucial in advancing Greater Western Water's (GWW) technology vision and strategy, focusing on the effective execution of complex, cross-functional projects that align with GWW's cultural goals. The position serves as a strategic bridge between engineering and project management, driving the successful delivery of technical initiatives while addressing technology risks and fostering innovation. Additionally, this position aims to position GWW as a leader in innovative technology solutions to facilitate digital transformation and requires an emotionally intelligent thought leader to support necessary processes and business changes that can earn the team's trust.
Responsibilities
- Lead investment planning processes by collaborating with stakeholders to develop and execute strategic roadmaps and define measures for benefits realisation across initiatives.
- Manage program portfolio delivery through cross-functional collaboration, develop business cases, plan resources, and ensure timely reporting per GWW’s standards.
- Proactively assess the impact of changes within the technology program portfolio, manage resources and interdependencies, ensure timely supplier services and payments, and deliver financially sustainable solutions.
- Engage and align stakeholders throughout project lifecycles by anticipating risks and implementing mitigation strategies to achieve successful outcomes.
- Lead and develop people to achieve high performance, promote collaboration across the enterprise, shape the Section’s mission for delivery excellence, and manage multiple project teams to align with program goals and budget.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelors in computer science or equivalent
- Program Management Professional (PgMP) certified (or equivalent).
- Proven track record in successfully managing and delivering complex, large-scale programs (both Waterfall and Agile) across multiple business areas.
- Extensive experience in end-to-end project delivery, from developing business cases to execution and implementation, along with alignment to strategic multi-release roadmaps.
- Skilled in providing program reporting and presentations to executives and senior leaders, showcasing strong senior stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong leadership experience with program teams, adept at navigating fast-paced environments and managing continuous change while overcoming roadblocks.
