The opportunity

A rewarding opportunity is now available for an experienced Product Manager with a strong focus on the ‘Property to Cash’ lifecycle, to ensure customer systems are fit for purpose, compliant, and delivering accurate and reliable customer outcomes in a water utility landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer systems across the ‘Property to Cash’ lifecycle are fit for purpose, aligned to customer needs, and operating in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Make decisions that balance customer outcomes, regulatory requirements, and operational needs, working closely with Regulatory, Legal, and process owners to ensure systems and processes deliver the right outcomes.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies across billing, property, and customer communication systems, and drive improvements that strengthen billing integrity, customer outcomes, and operational performance.
  • Lead the prioritisation and management of system defects and enhancements, ensuring backlog decisions are driven by customer impact, regulatory risk, and business priorities.
  • Drive end-to-end prioritisation across initiatives, focusing on improving lifecycle outcomes rather than optimising individual systems in isolation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across billing, property, and customer channels, supporting teams to navigate system constraints and deliver appropriate outcomes.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and negotiate across complex stakeholder environments, including executive leadership, Regulatory, Legal, operational teams, and technology partners to achieve aligned outcomes.
  • Strong experience operating in regulated environments, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory and compliance requirements to system and process design.
  • Proven experience ensuring systems are fit for purpose, with a focus on delivering accurate, compliant, and customer-centric outcomes across end-to-end processes.
  • Experience prioritising and managing competing demands, including defect backlogs and enhancement pipelines, using customer impact, regulatory risk, and business value to guide decisions.
  • Strong capability in translating customer, regulatory, and operational requirements into practical system and process improvements, working closely with technology and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple systems or platforms, with the ability to take a lifecycle view rather than optimising individual components in isolation.
  • Experience in vendor and partner management, including driving performance, managing delivery, and ensuring value is realised.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
