The opportunity
The Coordinator, Payroll Projects is responsible for supporting two major payroll compliance initiatives within GWW’s People Operations and Services team, focusing on the reconciliation and improvement of employee payment data. Reporting to the Manager, People Operations, the role involves locating current and former employees, managing compliance-related payments, and ensuring all activities align with privacy and business protocols. This position plays a key part in supporting business operations through accurate tracking, employee engagement, and resolution of payment issues, while contributing to the broader strategic goals of the People and Culture function.
Responsibilities
- Support reconciliation of business, payroll, and audit data, following project guidelines and direction from senior staff.
- Coordinate and administer employee payments, including identifying required documentation and maintaining accurate tracking systems.
- Locate and communicate with former employees using various channels to facilitate compliance-related payments.
- Assist with payroll project payments and employee communications, while maintaining effective relationships across the business and with external providers.
Skills & Experience
- Practical experience in payroll compliance, payroll accounting, or reconciliation activities.
- Working knowledge of project methodologies, with experience contributing to structured compliance or audit projects.
- Proven ability to apply systems thinking and drive process improvements across payroll or HR functions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation and scenario analysis for validating employee records.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and rostering systems for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
