The opportunity

Join GWW’s Asset Planning and Delivery team and play a key role in maximising the value of our infrastructure assets across their full lifecycle. Within the Infrastructure Program Management Office (IPMO), you will help embed and maintain our portfolio and project management frameworks, providing governance, assurance, and performance management for mid to large-scale capital programs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of infrastructure projects, supporting cost, risk, schedule, and contractor management, while driving innovation through the Next Generation Infrastructure Program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Partnership and Accreditation professionals, building commercial capability across the organisation.
  • Oversee contract administration, performance monitoring, partner accreditation, and dispute resolution, providing a central point of commercial expertise for planning and delivery teams.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to optimise project pipeline management and achieve organisational objectives.
  • Lead the management of commercial contracts for capital infrastructure, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, procurement frameworks, and probity standards.
  • Monitor partner performance, manage contract variations, extensions, and disputes, and provide authoritative advice on contractual, commercial, and risk matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement of commercial and contract systems, processes, and governance in line with GWW policies.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, embedding commercial frameworks and supporting organisational goals including sustainability, safety, and diversity.
  • Promote a culture of probity, transparency, and value-for-money decision-making, and drive capability uplift across teams to enhance commercial competence and performance.
  • Support business planning and capability development initiatives linked to GWW’s 2030 strategy.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven expertise in contract and commercial management within infrastructure, utilities or government sectors.
  • Strong understanding of procurement legislation, government frameworks and probity requirements.
  • Advanced negotiation and dispute resolution skills with demonstrated commercial acumen.
  • Ability to manage financial, legal, and operational risks within complex contractual arrangements.
  • High-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in advising executives, boards, or senior leadership on commercial and contractual issues.
