The Opportunity

The Manager of IT Commercials and Contract Performance is a senior leadership position focused on ensuring the technology function enters into agreements with suppliers with robust commercials and contractual oversight which are aligned to Greater Western Water.

You will work closely with Senior Leaders in Procurement and Commercials across the business and within IT&D and have visibility of all existing (and proposed) IT agreements and develop IT vendor management framework in line with Victorian Government and GWW standards and ensuring it is successfully deployed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the IT operating and capital budgets, ensuring financial alignmnet to optimise supplier costs.
  • Drive IT cost transparency by analysing cost structures, usage patterns, and performance metrics to identify and implement cost optimisation strategies to simplify the IT Supplier landscape.
  • Implement fair and accurate chargeback/showback models that allocate technology supplier costs based on actual business usage and service value.
  • Manage IT supplier performance and relationships, resolving issues and ensuring delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
  • Oversee contract compliance with government and regulatory requirements, recommending amendments or terminations as needed.
  • Implement unified governance across multiple IT service providers to ensure alignment, control, and agility.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier and contractual risks, ensuring compliance with government risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure IT suppliers meet data protection, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, and BCDR compliance requirements.
  • Manage contractual and commercial breaches and disputes, ensuring timely resolution in line with Victorian Government policies.
  • Promote a culture of wellbeing, inclusion, and continuous improvement in line with GWW’s values
  • Embed Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) responsibilities into all technology planning and operations

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to communicate to and have influence within the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting commercial contracts and a good understanding of translation contractual language into KPIs Proven track record in optimising and structuring IT agreements.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT commercial management.
