The opportunity
Join the Legal Team at GWW!
Day to day you will be providing legal services and advice to the business on a broad range of matters, including but not limited to commercial contracts, construction and infrastructure delivery, statutory interpretation, water law, property and planning law, administrative law, and civil litigation matters.

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively supporting the Legal team as requested by the General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
- Independently manage complex or sensitive matters, including civil litigation
- Supporting the maintenance of a suite of legal precedents across a range of areas including contracts, and statutory notices.
- Build, maintain and manage relationships within and across the organisation
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Law, admitted to practice as an Australian legal practitioner under the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2014.
- Practical experience in private practice or in-house or working in similar role within the government sector.
- Demonstrated experience in contract law, within the public sector context.
- Proven experience in litigation civil procedure and regulatory/administrative law.
- Experience in briefing external legal services providers and providing legal advice in a pragmatic and practical business orientated focus.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proactively manage time and priorities to meet expected turnarounds.
