The opportunity

This is a key role in providing technical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team that enables the delivery of water supplies and sewerage infrastructure services and associated activities.

 

This role is critical in ensuring the new infrastructure projects will deliver the expected life cycle performance outcomes.  Working collaboratively across the GWW business and with our external partners this role will lead the development and implementation of our Quality Assurance approach for new assets. This includes development of technical standards, providing technical support to asset delivery projects and supporting the development of technical staff.

 

Duties

  • Provide specialist technical expertise and leadership throughout the asset lifecycle, planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operation
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the asset delivery Quality Assurance model
  • Lead the development, review, and approval of technical standards
  • Work with Industry Partners, Consultants, Contractors, and other utilities across Melbourne in establishing standards review 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering- Civil / Environmental (GWW will support in obtaining Professional Engineers Registration)
  • Extensive knowledge in water supply/ sewerage infrastructure/ water treatment from planning, design, construction to operations
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Assurance Management, Asset Management, Engineering Design and Standards, and MRWA Codes and Standards
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external key stakeholders
