The opportunity
A rewarding opportunity is now available for a Lead, Partnerships to play a strategic role in Greater Western Water’s NextGen infrastructure model. As a key member of the IPMO team, you will be the day‑to‑day owner of partner governance and commercial performance across our Planning Services, Engineering Services and Construction Partners. In this role, you will contribute to the successful implementation of GWW’s Portfolio and Project Management Framework (PPMF) from post‑award handover through mobilisation, delivery, contract assurance, performance management and contract close‑out. Reporting directly to the Manager, Infrastructure Contracts & Commercial, you will be working closely with project managers, internal planning and delivery teams, as well as external partners, to ensure a seamless transition to the collaborative and outcomes‑driven behaviours central to the NextGen model.
Responsibilities
- Providing contract and commercial expertise across Asset Planning & Delivery, ensuring robust governance and compliance while managing key partnerships with contractors and suppliers.
- Supporting effective partner mobilisation and ensuring a smooth handover from legacy planning and delivery partners.
- Managing regular performance meetings with each partner and maintaining KPI scorecards and tracking contract performance.
- Acting as the point of contact for project leads to support them in day-to-day contract management, issue escalation and advice.
- Building key stakeholder relationships and capability across GWW to enable planning and delivery teams to implement strong contract governance processes and control environments to successfully manage commercial agreements in line with contract objectives and company policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Highly developed negotiation, communication and people skills with experience managing senior relationships and reporting to executives.
- Solid commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to create, implement and maintain governance frameworks that effectively manage commercial and contractual relationships with key suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience establishing partner governance cadences (monthly/quarterly), overseeing mobilisation activities, developing performance scorecards and managing KPI frameworks.
- Experience in large organisations managing varied commercial models developed to deliver on organisational wide objectives.
- Strategic thinker and confident in acting with a high degree of autonomy and intuition to engage in complex commercial contracts' structuring, negotiation and administration and governance.
