The opportunity

The Infrastructure Quality Engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering water supply, alternative water supply, and sewerage infrastructure services. The role involves ensuring that designs meet standards and deliver their intended value to GWW and its customers. They will provide engineering advice for essential services with safety, operational, environmental, social, and financial implications. The successful candidate will be well supported with mentoring, training and oversight from senior highly experienced team members including registered engineers. The Infrastructure Quality Team works to support GWW’s multi-billion dollar capital works program and extensive Land Development occurring across its region.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering advice and technical support for design and construction of capital and land development works.
  • Undertake design review and auditing of designs for water supply and sewerage works
  • Undertake design services under direction as required.
  • Contribute to development and continual improvement of GWW, Metropolitan Retail Water Authority (MRWA) and Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) design standards and construction specifications.
  • Contribute to development and continual improvement of quality assurance documentation and processes e.g. design audit checklists.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering (Civil) with ability to be chartered engineer/ registered engineer in the future.
  • Demonstrated experience in civil infrastructure design (water, sewer, drainage, transport, industrial etc.)
  • Awareness of design processes.
  • 3 years’ experience in the planning, design, construction or operation of water supply and/or sewerage infrastructure or similar experience in other engineering fields.
  • General understanding of Quality systems and processes.
