The opportunity 
We’re looking for a Process Engineer to optimise the performance of wastewater and alternative water system assets, ensuring reliable, safe, and sustainable treatment and reuse services for our customers.
You’ll play a key role in improving system performance through data-driven analysis, operational optimisation, and continuous improvement projects — all while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship.

 

Responsibilities
•    Analyse operational performance data, dashboards, and forecasts to identify trends, monitor compliance thresholds, and support decision-making. 
•    Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including trials, research, and process optimisation projects. 
•    Drive safe and efficient asset operations, applying sound process engineering principles, HAZOP/HACCP methodologies, and hierarchy of control approaches. 
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, consultants, and partners to implement improvement programs and deliver quality outcomes. 
•    Promote a strong safety culture, contributing to our 2030 vision of Thriving People and Country by embedding proactive HSEQ leadership and risk management. 
•    Support compliance and risk management activities across health, safety, environment, and quality management systems.

 

Skills & Experience
•    Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, with a focus on water or wastewater treatment. 
•    Experience in wastewater treatment or process optimisation, with sound knowledge of treatment plant systems, methodologies, and relevant standards. 
•    Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage or support consultants and technical projects. 
•    Proficient in digital systems such as SCADA, BI dashboards, spreadsheets, and management systems (IMS, HACCP, Water Quality). 
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across office and site-based environments. 
•    Committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and proactive problem-solving. 
•    Current driver’s licence and ability to work across operational sites and participate in afterhours roster if required.
