The opportunity
We are seeking a Network Engineer to optimise wastewater and alternative water system assets, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted sewerage and reuse services. You will monitor network performance, identify improvement opportunities, support compliance, and implement efficiency projects while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Analyse network operational reports, dashboards, and key metrics to monitor performance and compliance.
- Identify and escalate operational anomalies, support improvement projects, and implement innovative operational methods.
- Support sewage and recycled water quality management and adherence to HSEQ and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver continuous improvement and optimisation initiatives.
- Demonstrate safety leadership, applying HAZOP/HACCP principles and maintaining physical and psychological wellbeing for self and team.
- Contribute to a proactive, high-performing team culture with clear communication and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience in water/sewerage engineering, recycled water infrastructure, and operational optimisation.
- Program and project management experience, including supporting engineering works, studies, and investigations.
- Competence in Integrated Management Systems, Water Quality Systems, Asset Management Systems, HACCP, and SCADA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and digital literacy skills (MS Office, GIS, BI dashboards, spreadsheets).
- Ability to travel, work on operational sites, and participate in afterhours duty roster.
