The opportunity
The Coordinator, Payroll will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support across Payroll and core HR processes within the People Services team. This role will focus on the timely and accurate maintenance of payroll and employee data throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring data integrity and compliance. The position will also support both the People Services and Partnering and Advice teams as required, and play a key role in maintaining continuity of payroll operations during the absence of the Payroll Advisor.
Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll system and HRIS administration, including remuneration reviews, EBA increases, and quarterly data reconciliations.
- Generate and analyse HRIS and payroll reports to support data integrity and investigations.
- Support end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate payments, compliance with superannuation, taxation, and legislative requirements, and consistent service delivery.
- Partner with HR Services and Business Partners to provide advice on payroll matters, award and EA interpretation, and improvements to employee practices.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, including Finance, as well as external partners, auditors, and industry contacts.
- Foster a collaborative, consultative culture aligned with organisational values within the People Services and broader PC&S teams.
Skills & Experience
- Proven end-to-end payroll processing experience in a medium-sized organisation.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, processes, and administration.
- Sound understanding of Australian employment and payroll legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Well-developed administrative, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Diploma in Accounting or HR stream (desirable)
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration, audit, and compliance (desirable)
