The opportunity
Consultant, People and Culture with provide coaching and HR advice to leaders and employees, manage cases and investigations, uplift leader capability in managing poor performance, assisting leaders to self-serve and self-educate and interpret the new GWW Enterprise Agreement.
You will partner and consult with a variety of stakeholders across all functions and work in close collaboration with Strategic (HR) Business Partners and other colleagues in the People Culture & Safety (PC&S).
Responsibilities
- Actively coaching key stakeholders, leaders, and the broader PC&S team to build greater leadership capability.
- Supporting union and staff engagement, job evaluation and contribute to People Services sponsored projects.
- Conducting relevant employee lifecycle activities, including cross boarding, probation management, performance management, exit management, and other relevant activities.
- Conducting end to end case management and investigations into formal and informal performance, behavioural and conduct matters to resolve employment issues through early intervention.
- Contributing to improvements to PC&S processes, policies, procedures, and practices to ensure they are current and accurate at all times.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in a similar People & Culture role, including provision of expert advice, and experience in interpreting and implementing EAs, legislation, policy, guidelines, regulations, and strategies relating to employment and industrial relations.
- A background in supporting leaders to manage employee relations cases including conduct, performance, grievances and disciplinary processes or a desire to learn and grow in this area.
- A demonstrated ability to be discreet and sympathetic in relation to sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Understanding or appreciation in job evaluation methodologies such as Mercer, Hay or similar.
- Tertiary (degree-level or above) qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Business with a specialised focus in HR.
- Highly developed stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and agile.
- Well-developed written communication skills
