The opportunity
We’re looking for a Consultant, Health & Wellbeing to join our HSEQ Programs & Excellence team, stepping into the role while a team member is on parental leave.
This is a part-time fixed-term opportunity through to November 2026, working 3 days in the Footscray office, and at times across operational sites including the Sunbury Office.
You’ll play a key part in shaping a positive, sustainable and continuously improving HSEQ experience across GWW—supporting employees. This is a hands-on role where you’ll provide support across health promotion, injury prevention, injury management and return-to-work services (including Workers’ Compensation), while partnering with the broader People, Culture & Safety team to deliver practical advice, programs and initiatives that reduce risk and enhance the overall employee experience. You’ll also contribute to wellbeing programs, occupational health initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that help us meet compliance obligations and build a strong, proactive safety and wellbeing culture.
Responsibilities
- Providing stay and return to work support services to GWW team members. The case load is varied, personal and work-related injuries, illness and health conditions.
- Providing tactical support for health promotion, injury prevention, injury management and return to work services, for GWW employees impacted by physical or psychological injury illness &/or health conditions or disability,
- The administration and management of the GWW Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Supporting the HSEQ and broader People, Culture & Safety (PC&S) Teams to facilitate high quality and timely SME advice, support, and programs to reduce risk (physical and psychological) and enhance the employee experience at GWW.
- Supporting the delivery of HSEQ initiatives or projects, as delegated
Skills & Experience
- You are an occupational rehabilitation or allied health practitioner managing return to work cases from an employer, an occupational rehabilitation organisation or an insurer.
- As our customers and our people are at the heart of what we do, you will have the charisma to build personable and professional relationships quickly and effectively.
- Proven knowledge and experience working within Victorian workers compensation legislation to ensure obligation are met.
- Good organisational ability and experience in multi-tasking and meeting targets
- Essential - Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety &/or Allied Health
- Full driver’s license as you will be driving to GWW water treatment plants, maintenance depots and offices across our service region.
