The opportunity
The Analyst, Data and Pricing will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining key regulatory models that forecast revenue and establish foundational elements for demand forecasting and pricing strategies. This position involves undertaking complex analyses of demand trends, performance metrics, billing processes, and pricing and tariff structures. By leveraging data-driven insights, the Analyst will contribute significantly to the organisation’s ability to make informed decisions and optimise pricing structures to meet market demands effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing GWW's price submissions and analyzing regulatory parameters and wholesale supplier submissions to the Essential Services Commission under guidance.
- Contribute to GWW's regulatory models and perform data analysis on large datasets with guidance and supervision.
- Conduct tariff reform, pricing, and cost-based analyses to assess bill impacts, ensure compliance with policies, and align prices with regulatory principles under limited oversight.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and internal teams to prepare forecasts and models, particularly for integrated water cycle projects, while representing GWW in external committees and working groups.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, engineering, or quantitative discipline
- Experience in a regulated entity (like water or another regulated industry), as a regulator, consultant, or in handling pricing or demand datasets.
- Experience with analysis of large data sets
- Demonstrated experience in forecasting and trend analysis
- Understanding of the regulatory framework under which we operate.
