The opportunity
As a Field Maintenance Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and improving Greater Western Water’s infrastructure. Your day-to-day will include operating plant and equipment, conducting repairs, and ensuring compliance with water quality, environmental, and safety standards. You’ll collaborate with technicians, team leaders, and external contractors, all while delivering outstanding service to our customers and community.
This role operates on a 24/7 basis, requiring participation in an on-call roster, typically 1 week in every 4.
Responsibilities
- Operating and maintaining water and sewer assets to ensure reliable services.
- Processing and reporting on current ‘Bridge Actions’ relating to the Field Maintenance Services Team.
- Supporting Network Technicians and stepping into higher duties when required.
- Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and organizational policies.
- Continuously improving processes and contributing ideas to optimize operations.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
Skills & Experience
- Strong customer focus and communication skills to resolve inquiries effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Experience in practical, hands-on work in operational environments within utilities or similar industries.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- A commitment to safety and a positive work culture.
- Any Relevant qualifications i.e. Cert III in Network Operations (desirable but not essential)
- Licenses, such as First Aid, Confined Space, or Forklift certification (preferred but not essential).
- Hold a valid Australian Drivers License (required)
