The opportunity 

Join our Wastewater & Reuse team as a Senior Engineer, Process, supporting the Alternative Water Products and Biodiversity function.

In this role, you’ll provide technical expertise to optimise wastewater and alternative water system assets, ensuring reliable, safe and compliant treatment and reuse services.

You’ll use data-driven insights to monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact and support circular economy outcomes. Working across operational sites and office environments, you’ll collaborate with internal teams, consultants and stakeholders to improve asset performance, strengthen risk controls and embed a proactive safety and operational culture

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse operational data, reports and performance metrics to optimise asset and process performance
  • Identify performance anomalies, escalate risks and support effective operational responses
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation projects
  • Support research, trials and development of improved operational methods
  • Promote strong safety leadership and apply HAZOP/HACCP principles in process design and operations

 

Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Civil Engineering, with strong experience in Water & Wastewater.
  • Demonstrated experience in process engineering, optimisation, and application of industry codes, standards, and legislative frameworks.
  • Skilled in program and project management, with ability to manage and guide consultants and technical investigations.
  • High digital literacy across systems such as SCADA, BI dashboards, GIS, and Asset Management platforms.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Committed to innovation, safety, and sustainable operations.
  • Current Driver’s Licence (Essential)
  • White Card (Highly desirable)
