Join GWW as an IT Network Platforms Team Leader!

 

You will be responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance and strategic enhancement of our critical network technology services.

This pivotal role involves leading a high-performing team, ensuring platform stability, security, and efficiency, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet evolving network demands and foster continuous improvement.

 

This role is crucial to GWW's technology foundation, you will ensure effective governance and bridge operational needs with strategic project uplifts.  You'll directly contribute to mitigating operational technology risks, underpinning the vital IT and digital services that connect hundreds of GWW sites across our region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the IT Network Platforms team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and performance of the network platforms.
  • Collaborate with other teams to understand their network requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for network-related services and equipment.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Effective leadership, mentoring and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in a technical IT networking role, network administration, management and service uplifts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security.
  • Essential networking certifications e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ITIL.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms

 

Note: This role will see you participate in a 24/7 after-hours roster, 1 week in every 5 weeks and work across our corporate and operational sites within our service area.
